Israeli Ministry of Justice declared that nearly 100 Jews converted to Islam In 2009
According to the Israeil daily Maariv, tens of Israeli Jews converted to Christianity in 2009 while nearly 100 Jews converted to Islam. Maariv reported yesterday that between the years 2005-2007, a total of 306 —249 of them into Islam—schoolgirls applied to the Ministry of Justice to convert. The daily reported that the Israeli Ministry of Justice declared that in 2008 the number of schoolgirls who wanted to convert to Islam reached the highest level of all times and the number of schoolboys who wanted to convert to Islam was 112.
According to the first section of the declaration made by the Ministry of Justice, 15 of the 32 Jewish schoolboys who wanted to convert, converted to Islam.
CONVERSION TO ISLAM MULTIPLIES
Daily Yediot Ahronot reports that according to the figures provided by the Israeli Civil Registry Office, the number of people who converted to Islam doubled last year.
According to reports 40, 27 and 33 Jews respectively converted to Islam in the years 2003, 2004 and 2008.
According to Yediot Ahronot, drawing people’s attention to the religion of Islam, the considerable increase in the number of those converting to Islam also had its influence on researhes made on the religion.
